Boys & Girls Clubs Great Futures Gallery Atlanta, Georgia

What do Denzel Washington, Shaquille O’Neal, Jennifer Lopez, Condoleeza Rice, and Gabrielle Union have in common? They were all Boys and Girls Club Kids. This project allowed us to tell their stories – and countless others – while highlighting the Club’s impact around the country and the world.

The Brief

The previous Boys and Girls Clubs HQ in Atlanta was outdated and didn’t capture BGCA’s true story. They approached us with the challenge of creating a new backdrop for their annual conference, which is happening in only six months. Crafted Action, in partnership with NELSON Worldwide, developed and executed an Experiential Master Plan™ (EMP) that reimagines the space and helps visitors understand the BGCA mission, motivating visitors to get more involved.

Personalized Split Flap Display

A digital split-flap board provided by Oat Foundry welcomes visitors to the space. BGCA uses the display to offer a personalized entry sequence, advertise upcoming events, and display impactful data points.

Magical Moments

Perimeter and exhibit walls remind visitors that the Club’s work centers on children and a robust network of alums and supporters. Quotes, artwork, and objects are carefully integrated to inspire and provide a backdrop for photos.

Alumni Hall of Fame & Student of the Year Walls

The Alumni Hall of Fame & Student of the Year Walls mix static imagery with widescale touch-displays where guests can explore “Club Kids” from the past and present. Visitors can search by field/industry, name, or location. When not in use, the touchscreen will rotate between facts about the programs and images of recipients

Join the Club Interactive

Towards the end of the gallery, guests are invited to reflect on what inspired them during their visit through a video from CEO Jim Clark and the invitation to join the club. They pick an area where they are willing to support and receive a digital photo with their pledge as a gift to commemorate the visit.

Great Futures Creative Canvas

A 200-square-foot floor-to-ceiling LED display with custom motion content provides a large-scale canvas highlighting BGCA’s work. The screen features dynamic information about the number of BGCA members, personal anecdotes, and points of pride. BGCA also uses the screens for presentations, to show videos, or as a background for webcasts or announcements."

“Crafted Action was with us every step of the way in bringing to life our vision for an bringing to life our vision for an interactive exhibit at our headquarters. They delivered a modern, immersive experience for visitors to engage with our organization's 160-year history of impact. Brad and his team even went the extra mile to guarantee the proper functioning of the exhibit days before it opened. The space is beautiful, and we could not be more satisfied with their partnership!”
